Sinus Dynamics offers medicated irrigation by compounding medications to be administered utilizing a nasal irrigator and saline rinse kit. Medicated Irrigation is often times prescribed for patients diagnosed with allergic or perennial rhinitis. While a patient irrigates, the saline and medicated solution saturates the nasal lining and washes excessive upper respiratory secretions and airborne allergens out of the nose. This maximizes mucociliary function which will improve sinus health and help impacted sinuses to drain. Medicated Irrigation, however will not address infection or inflammation deep within the sinus cavities. Medicated Irrigation therapy typically only addresses the nasal passages unless the patient has under gone sinus surgery. Compounded Medications

Sinus Dynamics compounds antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal medications using a sterile compounding process. Our medications require a physician's prescription which is submitted directly to our pharmacy by the ordering physician. Each medicated irrigation prescription is dispensed with the ActiveSinus™ Irrigator and Saline Rinse kit. In some cases an ActiveSinus™ Saline Rinse kit will be provided to the patient by the prescribing physician.

ActiveSinus™ Saline Rinse Kit

Sinus Dynamics dispenses the ActiveSinus™ Saline Rinse Kit with each medicated irrigation prescription. The ActiveSinus™ Irrigator and saline rinse kit is preservative free and pH balanced. Below, are some of the advantages to using the ActiveSinus ™ brand over others:

• Ear Popping - Other nasal irrigation devices are designed so that the nozzle seals tightly within the nasal opening. This tight seal causes a vacuum effect that exerts pressure within the Eustachian Tube, which can lead to popping of the ear. The ActiveSinus™ custom molded irrigator is designed to prevent the nozzle from sealing the nasal opening too tightly thereby reducing the discomfort of "ear popping".
• No Inner Tube - Tubes or hoses on irrigators can act as a trap for black mold and bacteria. The ActiveSinus™ nasal irrigator is designed without an inner tube eliminating the harmful risks associated with trapped mold and bacteria
• Directional Control - The ActiveSinus™ custom molded irrigator allows for better directional control and deeper penetration.
• Sea Salt - The ActiveSinus™ buffered mixture uses natural sea salt for a more soothing and effective irrigation treatment.

Insurance Coverage

Sinus Dynamics is contracted with Medicare and most HMO and PPO insurance providers. Most prescriptions are covered by the patient's insurance provider. Once a prescription has been obtained by our pharmacy, our insurance specialist will work directly with the patient's insurance company to verify eligibility and determine co-pays and deductibles. Once the out-of-pocket expense has been determined, a representative will contact the patient directly to inform him or her of their co-pay amount.
